A question I'm sure will make y'all laugh

Postby visualchaosfx » Sun Feb 04, 2007 5:19 pm

Ok before I ask this I have consulted the manual and the kneeboard thingie.

I'm intiating a push back (Shift+P). How the frick do I make the jet turn left or right? Do i hit Shift+P and then 1 or 2 because that doesn't work. Do I use the num pad on the keyboard or the numbers above the letters on the keyboard? Because I tried both and I'm still going straight back, >:(

Noone is laughing here, i tell you. Sometimes i can get a turn on, but mostly not.
Therefor i use Rob's groundhandling. Search rcbgh32.zip and rcbgh32a.zip if you want it to work.

It takes a bit of doing, but as soon as the have pressed Shift+P, repeatedly tap 1 or 2, until you just feel stupid, that should sort you out  ;)

Hey! I got it to work!!!

You hit Shift+P let go of the shift button but still depressing the P button and then hit either 1 or 2. Let the craft push back and then at about 20 seconds, the aircraft will turn in the direction you selected. HA!

After having this game for 2 yrs I finally figured it out. lol.

Press Shift and while it's pressed press P, release both keys and then in less than a second press 1 or 2 among the numbers on the alphanumeric keyboard (not that numeric pad).

Most important is that while you push bask you better not change view. If you do, with some planes the turn doesn't happen.

You don't have to download any additional addon, you just have to hit Shift+P and then 1 or 2 very, very fast (really, but don't crash you keeboard ;)).

But I sometimes realised, that my engine configuration doesn't work properly. When I hit E by an accident, only engine 1 works. No problem I think, simply press E + 1, 2,... very fast (believe me, I am able to type this very fast) but even then nothing happens. I also saw this bug with opening doors. I put Shift+E+2 really fast and the a/c opens the main exit although I know it has one secondary exit. It really ruins you your day and your well prepared flight (because you have to restart to make it work again).

I hate such moments! >:(

Yeah I found on mine it worked well at first then it stopped working properly.   :'(

My remedy? :-?

[glow=yellow,2,300]Press Shift + P then release them both. after at least 1/2 to a full second and before 3 secs press 1 for left and 2 for right. wait until the aircraft backs its own length out (i've only tried the waiting on jets) then it will turn. :)[/glow]

The way I've been doing it as I described earlier hasn't failed me yet.

On the PMDG 747, I initiate a pushback via the com panel and I set it to 040 and the degrees to L90 and hit the button. The ground people push the jet back and then turn it at 90 degrees and keeps pushing it back. I had to set the parking break for them to say "Pushback complete. Please set parking break." Its only done it like twice and then I would exit the simulator and restart and then everythings fine then.

I've been practicing on how to turn on a 747 thats completely shut off at the gate and to make sure that I don't get any warnings and such. Its working out pretty good. The FMC or whatever you call it to program your flights and stuff is taking sometime to learn but I'm managing, and my TrackerIR thingie is coming in today so that'll really enhance the sim play. I can't believe I let a simulator like this just sit on the shelf for almost a year because I got bored with it. After buying my first payware, which is the PMDG 747, its been a great ride.

Now hopefully sometime in this century, I can build me 747 simpit

he he ;D

FYI the plane initiates the turn after one full plane length

Most important is that while you push bask you better not change view. If you do, with some planes the turn doesn't happen.

Also, don't press 1 or 2 when ATC is talking.  All that does is to select either the  ATIS report or select the Tower frequency.

The ATC can be talking, but you need to have the ATC window closed.

...what are you Blokes doing... :o...!

...Messing about with Passenger Jets again?... :'(...LOL...!

I've never had any problems with any of my Piston Prop, General Aviation aircraft, performing a "Push Back" using Shift + P, followed by "1" or "2" to turn in the required direction....

...no problemo... :)...!

...in FS 2000/2002/2004!
