It depends on where it's used. If it's employed together to some autogen can be quite engaging. Some autogen is necessary to give a sensation of depth though, so only photorealistic is a no-no. A half way for me, thank you. :)

I don't like how as ashaman said that it doesn't give depth to the ground. Unless of course you are at 40000Ft. :D

Is that the plane that went into space atmosphere and returned.
It looks great, but maybe too wide.

I personaly, as a designers point of view we should refrain as much as possible from using photo's. Mainly because you almost never can get the right lightning on objects, you spend hours tweaking it all only finding out your colleague managed to make the exact same texture in 30 minutes fiddling in photoshop.

Offcourse, in some situations its easier better to use photo's. But to me, no please :).

Sex?.....An over-rated pastime!....trust me ;)...!

Photographic Scenery... ::)...?

Total waste of space!....trust me... ;)...!

...unless, of course you always fly a Jumbo Jet at 40,000 feet....and NEVER, EVER land... ;)...!

Been there...tried it....dumped it...very quickly... ;)...!

Autogen, wound up to the Max, with a few scenery add-ons, is the way to go... :-*...!

Paul...wasted loads of money buying VFR Photographic scenery disks...never again!... :'(...!

Remember; Photographs are FLAT....as in VERY FLAT!... ;D...!

Ahhh true, but what if it comes with autogen? Take France VFR for an example...

I purchased the Just Flight; VFR Photographic Scenery: England and Wales, a few years ago...

...waste of money unless you just wanted to follow the M5 Motorway from Birmingham to Exeter, at a height exceeding 2,000 feet AGL...!!

...and the various add-on free-ware VFR scenery files, like San Francisco and Los Angeles, are fine at high altitudes, but watch the STRANGE effect as soon as you enter or leave the Photographic zones...!!

I don't know about the French VFR Photo and Autogen mix, but most of the others are generally a big disappointment after the novelty has worn off!... :-/...!

Paul...photographing the rain outside...again!... ::)...!
