Well its my first repaint, still got tons of work to do. For one I need to work on the alpha a bit and I need some better pics for the markings:

I think your coloring is a bit dark. Instead of black, I believe the lower surfaces were painted in FS 16081 Gloss Engine Grey. http://www.chassis-plans.com/paint_fed-std-595.html

It's a dark grey and in some light/pics can look close to black, but there should be contrast with the black nose and leading edge deicer boots.

The Navy also used it on helicopters

Hope this helps.

Coming nicely. Still looks a bit dark, but certainly better- and it may be because of the lighting in the pic. Looks like you got the engine nacelles, and I can definately see contrast on the nose now.

wow youve got to much time on your hands

:-? I've never understood this phrase. Is having the time to do something one enjoys too much? How much time should each of us be allowed for a hobby like FS?

Setting up the Alpha channels would help the color out any suggestions on how to give the plane a slight gloss?

The gloss would be simulated by reflective effects, right? I think I've come across a couple of tutorials on how to do that- one is here. http://www.gjsmith.net/Tutorial/basic.htm

I've never repainted an aircraft, as Photoshop continually repells my every effort to learn to use it  :'( - but this is what I think I would try.

I think I nailed it check out this thread:

http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 881885/2#2

Its not 100% accurate and I could of spent more time on the graphics but its done. In the spirit of a Mike Stone model, very simple.

P.S. Thanks for the good info.

If you are interested in the textures PM me!

It's not that they cannot, it's simply that the market is moving toward FSX, so... why bother with old releases. Law of market and all that, you know. ::) :-X
