FS9 freezes but only in certain views

Postby ppgstf » Tue May 08, 2007 1:23 pm

Hi all

Please accept my apologies if this has been asked before.

Just recently, FS9 has started to 'freeze' but the strange thing is that it's only in certain views ie Spot and Tower.  When in cockpit view it runs fine.

I've cleaned and defraged the disc but it still does it.  Anyone with any suggestions please?

Have you added or removed anything form the sim lately?

Hi Gary

Not recently, however I have subsequently noticed that the problem occurs with 2 PROSKY models I like to fly with.  Tried an IFDG A319 and the problem was gone.  Still to try other aircraft but it looks like a quirk with my PROSKY files.  Will delete the aircraft concerned and try again later.

Thanks for replying.

Bizarre but true.  I deleted the existing PROSKY models, reloaded them as new files and everything's ok now.  Really strange thing is, that I'd used those models for months with no problem and overnight things went pear shaped.

Thanks for all your kind replies.

happy simming!

To see what files fs2004 (or whatever) is looking for and possibly not finding......... get the free FileMon tool from the Microsoft website.  it creates a log of EVERY file search/access that is happening on your machine.  It can be long..... but quite interesting.   I found AI aircraft missing textures that when I fixed that .... speeded up the sim.

best,
