Has anyone tried these cloud textures?

Postby JBaymore » Sun Apr 22, 2007 10:01 am

Looking to improve framerates a bit........

Has anyone tried the cloudfix_v3 textures?  there is NO autorr in the readme file... so I can't say who the author is.

Any suggestions for other possibilities (freeware)?

best,

......john

I have yet to find a cloud 'fix' that improves framerates. I just reduce the settings in the sim. It doesn't look as good, but is still better than the low resolution versions.
Good luck.

When I had FS9 I was using a older ATi adapter and never saw much improvement with any of the fixes posted. The flight env program with the choices NickN recommended was the first time I saw any real improvement. Once I learned how to use registered FSUIPC weather options and cut out the excessive cloud layers, it really made a huge difference using the flight env clouds

I also ran the sliders at 60 - 40

Nick and all,

Thanks... that is what I was afraid of.

Nick, I was trying to see if there was some freeware alternative.
