Aircraft won't fly

I have a couple of aircraft that won't fly. I go to takeoff, but they won't lift off the runway. If I slew it up to an altitude, they drop like rocks, How do I get them to fly? these are in FS2004. They are An255 and a B1a. I also have a problem with a Piaggio P180. After takeoff, I raise the flaps an gear. It then goes vertical stalls, then nose dives. I can then gain control. On landing, the same thing, it climbs then dives. What am I missing?

Also, where can I find gyrocopters like the benson for FS2004 or FSX?

I am not a pilot, have always had an interest. Money has been the determining factor. But, I do enjoy Flight Simulators.

The B1a I never used, but I have the 225 and the 180 and they fly good. At least they do if we're talking about the same planes. Are the planes you have problem with FS2004 planes?

I ask this because back in the days of FS2002 compatibility in 2004, a lot of planes had the defect you accuse.

Generally though, unless you're able to go in the aircraft.cfg and increase some key values I myself barely know, it's better you try finding other similar looking but working planes.

I feel stupid writing this for last but, are you sure those planes were inside their max allowable weight when you tried to make them fly? Try and take away some payload and fuel and try taking them in the air again.

Do your other multi engine ac fly ok?  I ask, as it is possible that an errant keypress  has you operating on less than all engines.

Monitor your engine gauges or throttle quadrant. If all engine are not responding press and release E then 1-2-3-4 (on keyboard, not numpad) to reselect all engines.

The AN225 is too heavy to lift off. Reduce the amount of fuel to 75% in all four tanks. It should take off like a Cessna.

You didn't accidentally leave the autopilot on at the end of your previous game did you? Just this can cause similar problems....

I had this problem and it was beacuse i pushed the tail hook button.

Do you have a force feed back joystick? The B1 lancer package contains a warning that the plane will go into vertical stalls if a force feedback joystick is being used :-?

throttle is open, and engines on?

F4 and shift-E

Shift-E opens the doors. Crtl-E starts the engines.

It may sound simple but this has happened to me a few times. The first thing I check is the elevator.This happens sometimes. I change planes and get it to work, then change back again and success. I'm not suggesting this is the problem solution for you but it's worth a look.

heres a thought, did you accidentally fold your wings? i've done that a few times just fiddling with controls while taxiing, i get my message saying wings folded, and i'm still sitting on the grund doing 350kts, before i realise that if i hit the wings unfolded it will fly

Check you elevator trim. Sometimes at the start of a flight the elevator trim is set to "down". With it set like this you'll never get off the ground.

Check your fuel and payload. You may be overweight. Remove some fuel (say 50%) and try again.

What aircraft and airport are you flying from? Field elevation has a tremendous impact on performance, especially for prop driven aircraft. The higher your field elevation is the longer t/o run you'll need and lower GTOW.

Did you set your flaps? Most aircraft need about 10 degrees of flap for t/o

If you slew make sure in addition to seting your altitude that you set your airspeed to something above stall speed for that particular aircraft. It may be dropping like a stone because airspeed is zero or some value below stall.

Thank you for help. But none of your suggestions helped. I think that there is something wrong with the files. I may play around with them abit. Thanks anyway!

Flaps part not very true at all. Most general aviation aircraft require no flaps at all for departure. In real life, the King Air 350 requires no flaps for a standard departure, and look how big it is.
