Carrier help!

Postby Isak922 » Wed Apr 11, 2007 5:19 pm

Heyas...

The other day I went and purchased Alphasim's Su-33 + Admiral Kuznetsov package. However, I had been using the Waikato Carrier Operations package (Misc section, I think?) for Carrier Ops. Now, whenever I try to land on the Carrier (My hook IS infact, down, and it is a plane I've landed on a carrier many times before), it just slides along the deck.

I'm thinking the problem is the gauges that the Admiral Kuznetsov package installed, overwrote the ones I had for the Carrier Ops.

I'm thinking all I'll have to do is put the files from the Carrier Ops package back in, and all should be good. Just thought I'd ask the experts before I go and do something that might go and completely destroy my game  ;D

Well, you may be correct. I think what you are planning to do will work, but there is a better solution!
It's called 3wire--->http://www.simviation.com/fs2004misc17.htm

Few suggestions,

#1 check the Aircraft config, for a [Tailhook] line

#2 Make sure that there is a tail hook paragrap added to Waikato Carrier Operations package, arrester config

#3 Yes, install all the guages to be safe.

This should be enough to look at for now. ;) 8-)

I went ahead and did my original idea. Works fine now, on both the Kuznetsov (With F-14D, F/A-18E/F, and Su-33), and with the Waikato (Same planes, although, I didn't try taking off with the Su-33  ;D)
