Your problem is likely with the nVidia card. I have been battling similar BS and from searching around at various forums I have found that the nVidia cards seem to have problems with FS9 or FSx.

I have a dual processor AMD Athelon 64 system, 2 gig ram and it came with the Nvidia 6100 on board graphics. FS9 scenery was screwy from the start. I made a few changes mostly related to disabling all the nVidia utilities that load at system start up and things worked great....for awhile. Then a windows update came along and now I'm back in the woods!

It is frustrating because I know that it is possible to make the nvidia graphics work, I've seen the relatively low powered 6100 graphics work extremely well on my system.....but I don't know exactly how to configure the game and the card to get it to work again. Several other nVidia users on other forums have similar issues. But still nVidia remains silent on the issue.

My problem now has become to figure out what card to buy to replace my nVidia 6100 display adapter. In fact I found a good deal on a nVidia 7600 based card and was going to ask here if anyone had experience with that setup. I guess I got my answer!

Maybe some of the respondants here can remark on their favorite cards.

In the meantime see if disabling the various "nv***.*"

well if u read the whole thread, i state in there saying mine is 7600GS. i found out my screen seems blurry too. looks like fs9 using small pixels like 800 x 600. and later on i found out that all my slider on settings, sound whatever to do with slider is totally freezein and it cant move when you click and drag it to the max. i wonder if u got the same problem as mine?... im considering myself to FSX. i dont find any problem with FSX running my 7600GS... i dont know bout you, cuz you got problem with both of em.. if im not mistaken

Not sure, but I think a simple delete the FS9.cfg and reboot will help more than anything?

It's always worth a try. Now I have been using Nvidia cards for a very long time. Never had any problems with it using any of the FS series. My current card is a cheap a$$ 256 Mb Nvidia 7800GS.

Crash ;)

Yeah, I got it that you have a 7600 card. I get it that sometimes the nVidia cards work. I stated in my post that I even got my low powered on board 6100 stuff to work, and I mean it worked really, REALLY well, for awhile.
