Rear wheels

Hi there, can anyone tell me how to unlock the rear wheels on old aircraft, so as to steer the plane. There is no controls in the cockpit for  this task,the aeroplane I`m trying to steer is the Whitley V.

If we're talking about the same ac, AW38 Whitley V by Ed Cook:

The aircraft.cfg has it configured without a tailwheel lock (tailwheel_lock = 0), however the tailwheel is a 'castor' (unsteerable).

With a castor tailwheel, steering is done using differential braking and, in this case of

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
