Altimeter Voice?

Postby acurahotwheels » Mon Apr 02, 2007 8:53 pm

I've seen some flight sim videos on youtube where as the plane was landing and there was audio of the altitude (40,30,20,10) right before touchdown.  Can anyone tell me how to turn this on?

It has to be part of the panel. You could add it to another plane if you have it and know its name ;)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

It's not the altimeter, but the GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System) and works by the use of a radioaltimeter. It's simulated quite well in FS by some add-on gauges you can find around on the freeware sites (just type "GPWS gauge" in the search field), but you must do the (oftentimes simple enough) installation of the gauge yourself in the panels you want it to work.
