MAYDAY MAYDAY- I CAN"T SEE THE TAXIWAY!

Postby Kaworu » Mon Mar 26, 2007 1:21 pm

While, the time has come. It's time to fix fs9 up- spring cleaning you might call it.

First on the to do list- fix the taxiways.

I've had this problem for about a month, just haven't felt like fixing it. Now that I'm on Spring Break (yippi!), I have plenty of time on my hands. I have this weird problem where, anywhere on earth, on any type of surface, there is no yellow lines on the taxiways. The textures (World Environment Upgrade 7) appear, but not the lines. I have reinstalled the textures, but there is no effect.

Why do I have this feeling in my gut that the answer is very complex?

The taxiway lines will not show if you have the scenery density set to very sparse...

Good luck

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Sorry for the delay. It is there, and the taxiway lines aren't there in the sim. :'(

Try, just for the heck of it, to take from the install disks the original "taxiway_marks.bmp" and overwrite with it the one currently in your simulator and see if it works.

Thanks guys. There is still no taxiway lines. The "taxi_marks.bmp" is okay, at least it is from the cd.

Oh goodness, this is becoming quite problematic.

Let me give you a little bit of info. When this problem first arose, It was sudden. While waiting on the taxiway, all the textures went away, leaving the blank gray models. This happens often on my pc, so i thought nothing of it. When they reloaded, the taxiway lines were missing.

Try reinstalling the videocard drivers. Sometimes the oddest problems come from that direction.

I agree here try a different video driver if this does not work it might mean that your video card is about to bite the bullet. It might even be a overheating problem on the video card, but I would think that would cause more problems though. 8-)

Well, um, something in my pc or the fs has taken pity upon me, as it has gone and fixed itself. I simply start a flight at Bacold Airport (Super Scenery made). When the flight loads, I have all the textures and lines.

I reinstalled my vid card drivers two weeks ago anyway. There was a incompatibility between the old one and some update to something.

Thanks for the help, everybody!  :D

Don't worry about it too much. You are not alone. I myself had some weeks ago a problem with the ATC that was unable to fix and, after I resigned to keep it (because reinstallation for ATC matters is not going to happen), went away on its own.

This is the wonderful world of FS. ;D
