DME Question

How come the digital readout for some runways is not displayed, only the 4 Alphabetic code. I am referring to the VOR1 NAV1 readout. I am entering the right ILS frequency...

Not all ILS's, or VOR's for that matter, have DME.  Check the map to determine.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
