transparent aircraft

Postby 1958biggles » Fri Mar 23, 2007 1:49 pm

Hi All

Lately I have been having problems with a few of my aircraft that appear to be almost transparent. It doesn`t happen with them all and not only the bare metal skins such as the B29. I downloaded a lovely YAK series (12,18T and 52) and the 18T is the main culprit. Anyone any ideas?

Check your ....\FS2004\Texture\..folder for 'envmap.bmp'. If it is missing or corrupt, (and you have aircraft reflections turned on) the reflective areas on some aircraft can become transparent.

The default file is 43kb, date 4/7/2003. (Not sure what CD it's on)

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Turns out the envmap file was corrupt. Lucky I back up my FS files and I managed to use the copy which has sorted it out! Many thanks for taking the time to reply.
