London Scenery

Postby peggi » Sun Mar 18, 2007 3:30 pm

Ok, I don't know much about the complexity of scenery or anything, but I would like to operate the A318 from London City, but the problem is that the London scenery is so strenuous for my graphics card that it's basically impossible to operate properly due to slow frame rates.

I can't afford better hardware, so wondered if there would be a way to 'tone-down' the intensity of London's scenery. Is there a way I could remove some of the large buildings?

I don't want to adjust my hardwar settings because it took ages to configure it to it's current state.

Any help would be appreciated.

The easiest thing to do, would be to turn down the "Scenery Complexity" and the "Autogen Density" sliders. Both can, at maximum settings, increase your frame-rate hit IMMENSELY (Thus, lowering it). If you'd REALLY rather avoid changing your settings, Try taking off from an airport nearby, but slightly smaller and not-so-painful on the frame-rate.

There are some other things that will help as well such as turning off or down AI traffic decrease your cloud draw and how far you can see and use a simple aircraft not one that has a lot of textures.
Check out the sticky at the top of this forum the one about FAQ and it will give you some ideas to try 8-)
