In Flight Simulator, and since V4, functional weapon on the planes has been banned (too much political correctness [an oxymoron, by the way] in this world. We'd live better without it at all). Some planes might have dummy weapon that look like they fire, but no effect is ever registered by other planes or the scenery.

To find said planes dummy weaponry way of work, you have to search the readme files with the plane itself. It's always different from plane to plane.

Stinks indeed, but it's like trying to empty the sea using a pail. A lot of people like the things as (stinky as) they are and it won't be changed anytime son. :(

The only default carrier in FS I know of is outside St Francisco (but there could be easily a lot of others I don't know), and is landable alright, if you have a plane that can stop in a dime (no arrestor cables either). There are some add-ons ones too on the various sites, for example on this page here, or here and here. But there are a lot of others, major or minor add-ons about carriers, that would be a gigantic work to link them all.

Suffice you go on a site of FS freeware, select the search engine and type "carriers" or "Nimitz", "Waikato" and so on, you'll be surprised on how many add-on carriers there are for FS9. ;)
