Saitek X-52 Rudder Control Problem

I'm using a Saitek X-52 stick and throttle to control in FS9.  I'm having problems though controlling the stick twist rudder.  When the stick is neutral, all planes slowly veer to the left and when I look from outside, I can see that the rudder is deflected slightly to the left when the stick is neutral.  I've tested the stick's calibrations and it seems to work just fine.  It also works fine with other simulator programs that I use.  There seems to be a software conflict between FS9 and the stick.

Any ideas?

Mine does exactly the same. Tried to calibrate it, didn't help. I learned to live with it....

PS. I've been thinking lately it could be something to do with the weather in FS. Got a lot of wind from the rightside? It pushes the plane to the left.... And since I always use real world weather....

It's not prop torque or slightly mis-trimmed rudder is it?

I have exactly what you have (not the problem, the controls) I overcame this problem by just simply non stop re-installing it until it worked. No comment about how long that took.

Did you mean reinstalling FS9 or the Saitek X-52?

The X52 along with most Saitek sticks work best with the XP drivers
instead of the Saitek drivers.

Just uninstall the Saitek software, unplug your stick, turn off the computer
and plug the stick back in, while the computer is off.

On rebooting, XP will find the new hardware and install a driver for it.

center the lower thumb wheel on the throttle. there is a detent for center and if you have not changed the default axis the thumb wheel will control the rudder. had the same problem.

you will feel when you hit center.

I cannot thank Swordfish enough for giving me such a simple solution!!!

I had no idea that the throttle control dials and buttons had any default functions in FS9.  I was simply using it for power control.  Where are the default functions for these dials and buttons listed in FS9?  I found the joystick default settings but not the throttle control's.

I feel really stupid having spent so many hours trying to solve this problem thinking that it was a software issue when the simple solution was a 2 millimeter turn of a single dial on the throttle control!

Making my problem ten times worse, while pulling my heavy metal case out of my desk tunnel to gain access to the back so I could disconnect the joystick, I dropped the case about five inches to the floor and that busted my motherboard!

It took most of last week for a friend to replace my motherboard with an exact copy so that I would not have to reinstall the operating system or lose my files.

sorry i didn't notice this post earlier and help. :-/ glad you got it fixed though

all of the dials and axes are in the joystick menu. you just have to move the one you want and watch for the change in the values.
