Another way to do this would be to download avaiation maps of the area these will have all of the airports in the area water or otherwise. Since most of the maps are for specific regions it would not be as hard to find airports on the water. 8-)

That's a real good question... I really wish FS9 had a search feature for various types of airport as well as by location.
Only two ways I can think of would be the hard way (go through the whole list) or perhaps try Google for real-world info or maybe even a pre-compiled list of water runways in FS9.
Or... get a map of South America, make a list of major cities near water, and narrow down your search in FS9 that way.
When you've compiled them all, send me the list... that will keep me busy while you compile the list of the rest of the seaplane bases in the world... ;d
Actually, it wouldn't take all that long to do it that way... maybe I should start making a list myself, a little at a time. Also unpaved runways, high-elevation runways, uncontrolled airports, etc...yep, I'll toss that idea on top of Mount Projects (now about 150 feet high), and get to it as soon as I'm able.
Kills me how they've added prettier water, "missions" and animated birds to FSX but you still can't do an airport search the way most simmers would like to do it...
