Well, start with looking if inside the scenery library everything is alright and selected. If the activation tips near the various scenery calls are absent, reactivate them yourself then restart FS and see it it works.

If inside the scenery library everything looks OK, then you have a problem. And a problem I've never heard of before.

If worse comes to worst you might need to reinstall.

Free downloads of add-on planes and scenery you can find here on SimV, or AVsim, or FlightsimCom, or the less known World Serious Pilots, and even others I don't remember at the moment.

Note that to download from AVsim or FligtsimCom you must subscribe (free) and login first.

First thing I'd do is start the sim, and click on 'Settings'>'Display' and see if he turned down your settings (moved any sliders to the left).

If you find sliders way left move them to your original settings.

If your unfamiliar with the settings or don't remember the slider settings you had set, just press the 'Reset Defaults' button on the 'Scenery' tab window.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

No there is no where you can download the whole sim.  Your best bet I assume would be to uninstall it go back and make sure everything is gone and the folder in My Documents will need deleted.  Then reinstall it and you should be set.  If you any add ons to the sim such as planes I would make sure to back them up before you uninstall because it will wip all those off your hard drive.

In the first post you made in this thread you said you just bought FS 2004. So I assume you have 4 cd's? Then why would you download it? As far as I know there never was a official version that you could download from Microsoft. If you did download it and paid for it, you were ripped off.

Now back to your problem. If you can't find what is causing this, the best thing you can do is deleting your FS9.cfg, thus resetting the whole simulator. You can find the FS9.cfg here:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9

Delete the FS9.cfg and start the sim. It will make a new one so don't worry about it. See if that helps.

Crash ;)
