2002 cloud type in FS9?

I was wondering if it was possible to copy 2002 weather into FS9. I fly  IFR all the time and for what I want, I like an overcast cloud type with no holes,like 2002,  and when you get on top it is totally covered without being able to see through it. I would like to break out of the base of the cloud with about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile visiblity for landing. In FS9 when I try to duplicate this I get huge frame rate hits. I know you may think, well just use 2002 but I am trying to reclaim some space on my hard drive and just have FS9 and FSX.
Does anyone know of any weather type program I could download, if 2002 weather transfer is not possible to FS9, without getting big frame rate hits?

Go into the FS9 settings/display/weather and set clouds' details to "Simple Clouds".

That's all folks. You're back to FS2002's clouds.

If you instead want the weather model of FS2002 into FS9 (though WHY you'd want a less precise weather model is beyond me)... sorry, no can do. To install FS2002 and use it is the only way you have to obtain what you want.

The payware version of FSUIPC allows you to make amazing chnages to FS2004's default weather.  No more sudden "weather cell" changes among other things.  Check it out.

Or look into something like Activesky.

I have both ActiveSky and FSUIPC and though the change is not as dramatically pronounced as with lesser systems it's still there.

Changing the kind of clouds is not going to ameliorate that particular bug a lot. It's an annoying part of FS9, like the strange behavior of water on the far horizon with unlimited visual.
