loss of aircraft preview pic

Postby 1958biggles » Sat Feb 24, 2007 3:11 pm

Hi Guys

My FS2004 has started to "lose " the aircraft preview pic on the start up page. I just get a black area now. Any ideas?

Does this happen on all aircraft?

Hi Biggles and welcome!
I think you'll find this is an issue with the Anti aliasing settings on your video card. If it's an Nvidia card they don't like being set above 4 (I think.) I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly.

just make sure your AA settings in your video card drivers are at or below 4x and the aircraft will return.

Like it's been said before. If you use a Nvidia videocard reduce you Anti-Aliasing to 4. Your preview will return that way.

Note this is only for Nvidia cards

Crash ;)

I don't actually think this is a feature in FS9. You could click on the aircraft in FS2002 and rotate it in any direction but I've never been able to do it in FS9. The cursor disappears as soon as you move it over the aircraft. :'(

You can only 'click and rotate' if you are in window mode, not full screen mode.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

That's interesting Dave. As I never use window mode I never realised.
Thanks :)

Yep. Checked it out and it works. Not sure of the advantage though.
Are there any more features available in Window mode that aren't available in full screen?

Zaphod.
