Need a Small Favor

Postby N2744X » Sun Feb 11, 2007 12:45 am

HI everyone,
I was lazy and stupid today, and did something that i should not have done. I installed the RealAir Cessna 172 Flight Model, without seperating it from the default one. So now, every time the i try to boot the sim, it tries to load the default 172, and it cant, because it dosent exist anymore. It loads, and then at the splash screen it says "Aircraft Initialization Failuer Cessna Skyhawk172SP." So is there anyway that someone could upload the default 172 aircraft folder to a temporary location, so that I can reinstall it, and actually be able to boot the sim? Thanks.

PS: I looked all over my recycle bin, and its not there, so trust me, its gone  :(

The original will have to be reinstalled, you can look on the discs that you loaded FS9 with (not sure which one it is on however). I thought the sim gives the initialization error message but then permits you to load a flight thereafter; you could simply wait till that happens and then save a new flight, complete with your choice of remaining aircraft, as your default. This would alleviate the error message, but certain aircraft and addons use the Cessna's gauges and sound, and therefore it's best to reinstall the aircraft file.

The default C172 can definitely be restored from the original set of discs.

That's easy.

I got the same problem. I deleted my FS9.CFG (Caution, will reset all you FS9 settings!), and then it worked fine again. A second way to solve this problem is, that you delete alls flights which contains this aircraft.  :)

Good luck, tell us if it worked (if it worked ;)).
