ATIS text display not working

Postby PlutonianEmpire » Thu Feb 08, 2007 10:47 am

for some reason, when I switch to an ATIS or auto-weather-service, the green bar that displays the text flashes briefly, then disappears, even though I can hear the voice, and even though that I set the text display to "continuous".

I don't know if its something I downloaded, 'cuz it's been a few months since I've last flown fs.  :-/

Maybe it has something to do with that I briefly had FSX on my system, tweaked it to look like fs9 after reading a tip on the POSKY forum, then uninstalled it after being disappointed with the slowness?

It sounds like to me that you answered your own question. Without knowing exactly what you changed it is hard to give advise about the only advise I have would be to delete the FS9 cfg file and let it build a new one this may solve the problem. But if you changed things elsewhere in the sim than your only other option might be to uninstall and reinstall FS9

Yeah, but the tweaked sim was fsx, not fs9, and fsx has since been uninstalled, and I'm now flying with fs9.

Ok but the same thing applies here. I gather you started with FS9 then installed FSX and then tried to tweak FSX to imulate FS9 then you uninstalled FSX and now are having problems with FS9.
I still would try to delete the FS9 CFG file. If you manually moved things form one sim to another there is no telling what you might have goten messed up. If deleteing the FS9 cfg file does not solve the problem you may have to uninstall and reinstall FS9. If it comes to that just make sure that ther are no folders left from either SIM before you reinstall FS9.

I wonder how could the mere fact of having installed (and tweaked, and ultimately removed) FSX, without touching FS9, have affected the fs9.cfg file. Strange.
