Restoring original FS 2004 air traffic

Postby mwe67 » Fri Feb 02, 2007 2:30 pm

How do I restore the original FS 2004 computer traffic?  I had bought the FS Live Traffic add on and used that for a while but cancelled it a few months ago and quit playing FS 2004.  Now I've dusted it off again and my FS Live traffic is expired and I don't want to renew it but now there are no other planes flying at any airports.  When I first played this there were the MS flights flying around.   I have gone to 'settings' and set other air traffic at 80/100% and checked to see other Airline and General aviation traffic but none shows up.  I don't want to spend another $55 to re-subscribe to FS Live Traffic - just want the original stuff back for now.  Anyone know how to fix this?  Thanks...

The default traffic file is 'traffic030528.bgl', located in the '....\\Scenery\World\scenery\' folder.

Look there or search your drive to see if FSLT may have created a backup, (maybe something like 'traffic030528.bak' or 'traffic030528.bgl.original'). If found, rename it to the original name and place in the original folder.

Or:...if FSLT has an uninstall, maybe that would put the default file back in place.

If you can't find the file you can copy it from CD#4\World.cab\scenery.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Got a demo of FSLT and got the same problem after the trial ran out. I don't know what I did next, but I think that's a bit rude of fSLT. >:(

BTW what does it cost?

Got it, thanks Dave!  It had added an  .passive  extensin on the traffic050528.bgl file and there was a FSLive.bgl file there so I just renamed them.  Works great now.

Conan - FSLT costs $55 for 6 months!  I bought it last year but cancelled and quit playing for a while.  It was nice to fly around and hear ATC talking to real live airlines and it loaded a bunch of models but don't feel like paying for it again quite yet.

$110. a year! That's insane, hehe.
For that I would expect a stewardess to bring me coffee during the flight and tell me what hotel she is staying at, lol.

There is some great free ai stuff out. GA Traffic is wonderful, a must have imo. There are many airline add-ons too. A good ATC voice pack thing and loads of other stuff. From what I have seen with careful selection you can have really great AI with good ATC all for free.

I don't know of a free live ATC, but the voice pack thing does a nice job of fixing up the sims comms.

Anyway, hunt around a bit and you can find plenty of great stuff to improve the AI and ATC. I don't have links to the stuff I am using, but they might be here at Simv.

Good luck :)

Sorry? You not only have to pay for something that is freely available but it runs out?

MWE, if you can't find the 'traffic030528.bgl' file, pm me your email and i'll send it to you.

And don't ever forget about http://www.projectai.com/
The only problem with this is that you can make way too much traffic and never get on the darn runway!

You better get "World of AI". Great installer, you just have to download the packages andgive them to the installer. Easy as heaven. ;)
