I know this is a bit out there but I thought "what the hey." Anyways I was wondering if anyone, who has spare time, can make a video tutorial on how to land a 747 in FS2004? I've actually looked through some image tutorials but I learn better watching video of it.

It's for a 737, but the fundamentals of landing are similar between a lot of planes.

You learn from Rod Machod in a Cessna  :P

Then just practice until your good enough to land a 747-400.

Landing a Cessna is just like landing a 747, except your coming in much faster and your approaches start at higher altitudes. (Also more buttons )

Basically all it takes is practices. Master the Cessna and move onto the Learjet. Master the Learjet and move onto the 737. Master that and you should be ready.

Also if your flying without a joystick or yoke, that might also be the problem.
Before my yoke i never made a smooth landing (just too hard for me on the keyboard). Then when i did get it I realized that it wasnt as hard as i expected and started landing everytime.

I learned from practice, and I know if I can, anyone can.

Just get out and fly  :)

PS: Make sure when flying a approach:  Flaps are down fully when u touch down,
                                                         Speed brake is armed (Hit shift+/)
                                                         Parking Brake set.
                                                         Ready to put the engines in reverse
                                                         Listen to the ATC's approach before trying VFR
                                                         Brace yourself for emotional break down  :(
                                                         Speed is around 175-190
                                                         Touchdown around 180
                                                         Seatbelt sign on (so they dont go through the roof)
                                                         Remember to taxi to the gate and not leave your passengers at the runway  :D

That's interesting, Rod is talking way too slow in the cessna approach, I landed while he tried to explain what PAPI means...

My landing speed was about 60 kts and I didn't make any mistakes... so why crashing?

Conan. Jealousy came when the first man meet the first woman! Why? I really dont know!!!
But invent that "word" with only 1+1 is bad thinking!!! I would like to know WHO did that??

I doubt hes jelous and it could also be that you didnt flare and your nose gear ripped off.

I doubt that he would make you do it again because he was jelous, mainle because its a computer!

Why is that when I'm going down the runway getting ready to take off, the plane starts steering towards the left all by itself?

Calibrate your joystick, check your weather settings (wind) and check that your thrusting both engines when you're thrusting. If you thrust only one, press (very fast) Shift+E+[numbers of engines].

A suggestion I feel to give you is to follow the briefing of the lessons and then try on your own without the so-called help, because the interactive lessons are one of the most bug infested parts of FS9.

If you landed at 60 Kias wit the 172, you managed to land in a way I never did. Don't get mad to FS9. It serves nothing. FS9 has no fault if it was coded by people that was thinking to the next golf match and was resentful of the horrible two hours of work to do daily.

Have you turned on crash detection in FS? Could it be that you turned it off, so the crash was not put into effect but Mr. Machado detected it anyway?

It's on, everything is 100% realistic in my FS.

Yesterday I bought and downloaded the PMDG 747 and the FS2crew PMDG 737NG Edition which acurately simulates what its like to fly a 747 from preflight checks, switching on engines, turning on power and all that stuff to landing at your destination. Right now I'm trying to master the preflight stuff but I'm having trouble with it. Lets just say it took me a an hour last night to figure out where to turn on the power on the overhead panel. Yes I read the manual..... about 4 times but it really doesn't go into detail. I need pictures or video with arrows pointing at what buttons I'm supposed to hit and what not.

Does anyone on here know where I could find a tutorial on that?
