Restoring Water Files: HELP!

Postby Andi » Sat Jan 27, 2007 11:34 am

Hi Folks  :)

Can anyone help me restore my default water files in FS9?

I recently tried some fancy replacement water files, but frankly, they made me 'seasick' after a while.  Problem is, during a hard-drive cleanout I accidently deleted the backup copy of the default water files - doh!  I'm not at all sure how to get the old ones back now, so need your help    :(

Well, you can always open your fs9 cd's in explorer and copy any default files you want into the game.
If you know their file names, it all gets easier.

First you need to find the add-on file you downloaded... note all the file names contained there, and replace only those listed with files of the same name from your FS9 CD . Or just replace your entire Texture folder...

Thanks guys (the both of ya!).

The thought of messing with individual water textures made my toes curl, so I've decided to take the plunge (ouch!) and change to a whole new texture system (eg; Real Environment Pro) - at least - that's what I would do, only my computer decided a few days ago that it didn't want to speak to it's DVD drive anymore, so now I can't 'fly' because the fs9 disc isn't recognised.  Just when you think things can't get any worse ...... so, I'm not a Happy Bunny right now   :'(

Thanks again.

Andi.
