Hello Briggs, welcome to SimV. Yes, it's a great site, and lots of help here from everybody. I also use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, it's the only kind I've ever used so can't compare it to others, for me it's been very good and comfortable too. As FridayChild said, button assignment is a matter of personal choice. I'm not at home right now, but I'll try to remember some of my personal assignments: Buttons 1 & 2 (the trigger button and the one under your right thumb) I use for trim, 1 for up, 2 for down, or vice versa, I forget. Other important assignments, for myself anyway, are flaps up and down, either in increments or full, spoilers, and landing gear. You can also program views, like from the back, side views, etc., and I guess you can pretty much program a lot of different stuff. As you get used to your own simming technique, you might end up doing what I did and changing assignments because you'll get used to different flying functions and your own personal preferences will eventually show up
Happy Flying,
Apex
