Locking up

Postby wyodeacon » Fri Dec 15, 2006 3:38 pm

I had a problem pop up last night and I can't seem to do anything about it.  While I was flying a screen came up telling me that it was not able to download real world weather and for me to check my configuration settings and my internet connection.

I closed the flight and then exited the program but when the splash screen came up it froze there and I couldn't do anything.  I hit cntrl-alt-delete but it didn't show the program running.  The only way I could get out was to shut off the computer.

Anyone have any ideas what is going on?

wyodeacon, it is just that the Jeppeson site is not on line for some reason. This happens now and again, the site usually returns to normal after a day or two. Meanwhile just set up your own weather.

Oh, that's good to know.  So apparently this is causing me to lock up too?  LOL  I even uninstalled and reinstalled thinking I had a contaminated file but it didn't help.  No wonder!

Well....It is still doing the same thing.  That's the problem.  I think NAV has the right idea.  At least I hope so.  Thanks everyone for your suggestions..

In my case, FS9 does boot, but if I quit it, it stays in the taskbar and I have to terminate it manually.
It does not happen if I choose static weather.
I guess this happens when FS9 is stuck trying to contact Jeppesen.
Let's hope it doesn't last long.

Well at least I'm not alone, huh?  Sounds like we're in the same boat (or airplane, as the case may be!)

Yeah, well, after all those solo flights, I wouldn't mind a little company.  ;)
