Installing 20M

Postby Aljay » Sun Dec 03, 2006 1:45 am

Having just started with FS I have 75M Mesh. Can I just install 20M over the top without any problems?

Yup  ;)

If your not using it already, SimV has mesh data that covers the whole globe, just check under the STRM section of the main site...

To install your mesh all you have to do is put the mesh folder inside you Addon Scenery folder (Give it an intellegent name ;D).  Then, start flightsim and go into options > Scenery Library > Add new area.... and point it to the folder inside your Addon Scenery.

Most, or nearly all of the time this should be fine for overriding exsiting mesh, especially default. Sometimes interesting things can happen, like a few of the screenies in the FSX section, but you should be fine  :)

Give us a shout if you need more help,

Alex

EDIT: Apparently I can't spell today  ::)

Aljay,

With any mesh in FS9, the higher elevation data will always take priority over the lower.

So if you run a global mesh of lets say 78 meter, whenever you install a higher detailed mesh in certain areas like 20 meter, it will always "override" the lower.
