FS9 Sound Tweaks?

Postby SMDSkata » Thu Nov 30, 2006 7:47 pm

First off,

I'm new here. I have been trying to register for the past 3 months. Finaly got through with a new server. Thanks Admin.

I was wondering if there is any FS9 sound tweaks outhere. I have 5.1 speakers with Sound Blaster Sound card. I mean could I get surround going with FS9? Like make it louder in the back when flying in the cockpit. Or in spot mode.

Anyhelp,
Skata

FS9 does not have surround sound capability  :-[

The best you can do it go Control panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Speaker Settings [Advanced] > and select 5.1 in the Speaker setup...

Hope that works,

I already have it set to 5.1 on my soundcard software. The best I could do was turn each indivuale speaker down in the front.

Replace the sound section of the FS9.cfg file with the following:

[SOUND]
SOUND=1
SOUND_FADER1=0.460000
SOUND_FADER2=0.460000
SOUND_FADER3=0.620000
SOUND_FADER4=0.800000
SOUND_FADER5=0.090000
SOUND_FADER6=1.000000
SOUND_QUALITY=2
Channels=4
SamplesPerSec=44100
BitsPerSample=16

That will provide a simulated 4 channel surround however that is the best you can do. You may need to do some fine tuning on the channel volume sliders in the sound drivers or Windows volume slider controls.
