Need help with screen

Postby wyodeacon » Mon Nov 27, 2006 5:45 pm

I recently installed Rutan's Long EZ and when I did it replaced my opening 2004 FS screen with one featuring him and his plane.  Can anyone tell me how to get it back to the original screen?
Thanks...also, sorry if this is the wrong forum but none of the others looked right either.

This was a known problem. You have to reinstall the original screen from the disk, a real PITA ::)

Hi wyo.....the Opening screen is an 800x600 .bmp file called dlgsplash.bmp and it is kept in the Uires folder which in turn is in the main FS9 folder.

...EITHER search your discs for it then copy it to the Uires folder........(Copy and Paste or Drag and Drop) or if you can manage it copy this pic and make an 800x600 .bmp and name it dlgsplash.bmp, then put it in your uires folder.

Overwrite the offending screen or rename it if you wish..........any advice then ask again.......commoner  ;)

Hey, thanks folks!

Once I knew the name of the folder I went to it in windows explorer and set for thumbnails.  I could see the Rutan screen named digsplash and the original was also there but had been renamed.
I just deleted the Rutan file and renamed the other back to digsplash.  It's fixed now.

I really appreciate the help.  I didn't like that Rutan screen at all!
