Guns on FS9 Fighter Aircraft

Postby Bubblehead » Tue Nov 14, 2006 12:46 am

Is there anyway that I can install weapons on FS9 aircraft and be able to fire them with good gun sounds?

No thank goodness. That is the realm of CFS.
However there is an effects pack here that can add the effects but not enable gunning down other kites.

After all this time I still don't understand why a lot of people is against the expansion of FS toward becoming a FIGHT Simulator too (there would be no  reason to change acronym either). It's a simulator, people. No one gets hurt in a simulated air battle (unless the PC on which the simulator runs is wired to explode when your simulated plane gets shot down, but then who would be so stupid to do such a thing).

..."realm of CFS"... ::) and seen that CFS is dead, so is the simulation of air battles. :-/

Sadly. :(

:-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Peace yaw'll. Looks like I hit a sore nerve. I did not intend to have the gun capability to chase and shoot down other aircraft. I just thought it would be fun to fly a fighter aircraft and shoot at scorpions in the desert.

Ashaman CFS ain't dead!!!! CFS2 is still VERY busy and alive and very much kicking. A lot of people are also playing CFS3, heck there have even been some new missions and planes released for CFS1 recently!
The thing is FS has ALWAYS been a civilian flight simulator. I personally don't have an issue but if I want to blow things out of the sky I fire up CFS2 and blat away to my hearts content.
I'm happy either way but a lot of people don't like the idea in MP sessions that some madman in an inverted Spitfire will zoom onto their tail and blow 'em to smithereens (no names mentioned ;D).
That said I was having an MP session with Ken (Rifleman) the other day and we had a 20 min mock dogfight in Solo Galebs (avilable here at SimV). BRILLIANT!!!!! But damn is Ken a superb pilot... he managed to shake me off his tail a number of times when I had him in my sights. What a blast 8) 8) 8)

Now THAT'S a great idea.  If that was the case...... I'd be all for it.  It would go a long way to show a lot of people what combat and war and shooting down a person in plane is REALLY all about.

These words, friend mine, are the demonstration (if one was needed) that someone (that isn't only you) still doesn't get that if the wars, the real wars, the wars that take the lives of mainly innocents (while the real bastards remain behind, perfectly sure in their bunkers), if all the wars would be fought on a simulated world, a virtual world...

...who would die, if not of old age? :-/

Am I a warmonger only because I'd like to customize my FS to air fight? Yeah?! Then how do you call... those who started Vietnam II (just to remain on a familiar ground)?

Presidents? Leaders?

And I am a warmonger?

Very clever. Oh, how clever it is.

Stop the world, please. I want to get out.

Now there's an idea for M(qualcosa)s!!!!
If they release a combat sim so that nations can actually go to war in the sim and not in the real world!!!! But of course as previously suggested each sides individual pc should blow up if their plane is hit!!! ;D
Vololiberista
PS and we could all monitor it on the net
USA Computers remaining 5  Italy Computers remaing 297!!
;D  ;D  ;D

Ashaman,

And pray tell, how would you fit that rather pointed comment above into SimV's rules about not invoking specific politics?

My comment was about video games and violence.  What's yours about?

Case rested...... end of the politics please.

best,

if you want a good WWII era fight simulator go to www.flyaceshigh.com and download their game. i fly in it occasionaly and it is fun!

fs2004 was never meant to be and never will be any sort of shooting game. someone might figure out a way to make flour bombs launch forward in fsx though...

Really?

And mine?

Politics? Where did you see politics in my writ? ???

I was making a simple comparison. Whatever you saw that resembled politics... it was not put there by me.

Well Ashaman I'd say these were political;
while the real bastards remain behind, perfectly sure in their bunkers

Presidents? Leaders?

I'd say they point in no uncertain direction at politics ::)

Well Ashaman I'd say these were political;

I'd say they point in no uncertain direction at politics ::)

I was not preaching to do in a way and forbidding another. I was not hailing a flag while condemning another. I was not demeaning a side while exalting another.

It was a consideration inside a comparison.

Hence I was not doing politics (at least not here where I live).

Or did I hurt someone's sensibility? If so, tell me this directly and next time I will behave differently.
