my copy arrived this morning and i think its BRILLIANT  ;D

not only do you get standard aircraft that look payware quality (standard caravan has 2 doors a cargo door and a passenger ramp) but the landclass is beter, airports are better, terrain mesh is probably a bit better than 78m freeware mesh, you get tonnes more failures (engine fires seem to happen automatically if you overheat engine for too long)

mulitplayers VASTLY improved, although i dont like the huge chat window you can share cockpits and have atc controllers and talk through microphones.

missions add a new depth to it and although some say it makes it too much of a game (some of them are very game like) they aren't all aimed at gamers.

these are just some of the advantages that I found so far, I also found a few bugs  :-/ although its a big leap forward from fs9

my reccommendation is if you have a rig as god as or better than mine you'll notice some pretty big differences.
My PC specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3200 (@ 2.2ghz)
Asus K8v se deluxe motherboard
1.5gb pc3200 RAM
128mb palit geforce 6600gt
200gb+80gb hard drives
21 inch CRT
5.1 creative surround sound speakers

My deluxe version has been pre-ordered, and should arrive soon. It's due in Australia on 17th October. I won't be installing it until I build a new system with dual core 64bit cpu, then get hold of vista, or maybe run xp 64 bit. Time to experiment a bit, but we won't get the best from FSX without Vista.

I agree with Hagar, it makes no sense to have two versions. If they sold the deluxe version only at the normal price, they'd sell just as many and not lose money on the cheap version which few serious simmers wants anyways. I automatically bought 2002 pro without batting an eyeball and will do the same with FSX deluxe.

I voted for # 4 because i am happy with 2004, but i probably will get FSX eventually. I might want to upgrade a bit first and i've spent so much time adding on to FS9, i'm just not in any hurry to move on.

Exactly what he said...am still messing around with some projects & tweaking in FS9, and overall flying around in the sim has become a very satisfying experience.

I would prefer to wait for another 6-8 months before purchasing FSX. Main reason being to get a new rig and play FSX at full max, and also Vista, DX10 would also be out by then. Althought I would get playable framerates currently I would'nt enjoy it much as.

I would rather play FS9 at max settings than play FSX with low/medium settings.

I not going to buy it because it costs too much for me and my computer would have a rough time running it.  Plus I am happy with FS9 anyway.  It runs good on my computer.
