to be quite honest:

when i was running this on a p3 800mhz with just over 360mb of ram, i was experiancing frames of around 15fps with a 64mb graphics card (still use this system to test out aircraft and scenery), with the system i'm running now, i don't experiance any frame rate drop unless i'm running real world weather etc.

it all depends on what your system specs are though.

..mm...no frame rate impact at all I would say...or at the very worst just a little.......but unless you have the files already they are presently/permanently (?) unavailable unfortunately.........whether they will ever come back is not clear ...........commoner. ;)

They will be back - hopefully within 2 weeks.

They are all reuploaded now on  our new machine. They will now be as permanent as the rest of the files.

Generally a 72 meters mesh is infinitely better than default and its impact on framerate is negligible even on a not so new nor powerful videocard, the like of the Radeon 9200.

This said, mesh more detailed than 72 meters might bog down a lesser videocard, but my old one, a Fx5700le, could keep up with 16 meters mesh with little problem, so with newer ones thare should be no problems at all.
