FS2004 Crashes at takeoff

Postby martianfrogz » Wed Oct 11, 2006 7:05 pm

Help guys- FS2004 crashes at takeoff or shortly thereafter. No new scenery or anything. I've tried graphics card drivers, but they're up to date as far as I know...what could it be?

Does it do it with every planes?

Is FS9 the only 3d game who suffers of this problem?

It could be very well the plane's fault, or the videocard cooling fan clogged by dust that lets the GPU overheat.

Did you remove all of the folders from the old installation ??? Another point is did you delete the fs9 cfg file before you reinstalled. A lot of people miss this very important step. You may have to go through the uninstall reinstall process again. Make sure you remove every trace of FS before you reinstall and reboot before you reinstall. 8)

I did the uninstall-reinstall...after uninstalling, I deleted the entire Microsoft Games folder, rebooted, and then re-installed. Still crashes... :(

Tried Tacoma-Narrows, Gwinnett Co. Briscoe Field, Meigs...all times, it crashed relatively soon.

System specs, crappy I'll admit- HP Pavilion 8578C- Nvidia RIVA TNT graphics (integrated...) 551 Mhz P III processor
