Rudder pedal axis reversed

Postby lib319 » Sat Sep 23, 2006 2:03 pm

Hi.

Ok,

i've got my logitech pedals set as a combined axis in windows,

i assign combined axis to the rudder in FS2004 and the controls are reversed left pedal is right rudder etc.

I check the reverse the axis box in the assignments screen to fix this and it has no effect, indeed the tick in the box is gone next time I go into the assignments screen.

I've tried the logitech profiler but this assigns itself to the keyboard rudder controls which are affected by the num lock key.

Is there a way to get split axis assigned to the rudder in fs2004 or a way to reverse the combined axis.

cheers

I use the CH pro peddles and have no problems. I am not sure what you mean by a combined axis though. I have two seperate set of controls when I got to calibrate it lists both my joystick and the propeddles and you can configure each one seperatley. Try looking in  you game controllers section
Just click on start then control panel then on game controllers it should list both the joystick and the peddles  8)

Perhaps you use a common set of pedals of a race wheel to operate the rudder?

I do too and the only time I have to make sure the two pedals of my AVB must be as a combined axis is when I use X-plane (not doing so is source of problems), but in FS it's pretty much a moot point.

One pedal for rudder right and the other for rudder left. That's what I use.

Ah, BTW, of course mine work like they should.

Never tried to use them as a combined axis under FS. If a thing works well... don't touch it.

Try it yourself.

Thanks for replies. Yes pedals are part of a wheel + pedels set.

When I assign the rudder I only have one option rather than assigning left and right ie. I have to either press the left or right pedal to assign the axis, resulting in 1 pedal moving the rudder.

These pedals have worked in the past though, just can't remember the settings to get them to work.

Ashaman, do you have to assign your pedals or do they just work?

thanks again

Well, I simply inputed in control/assignments/joystick axes the command set I wished (the pedals) and then had to select the reverse field too. That's just it, FS does the rest.

As for combined axis or not, my pedals boot up as separate axis, to make them become combined I have to enter the game peripherals part of the control panel and make the pedal become a combined axis. This though is necessary on my system only when I use X-plane.

In X-plane, if I let the pedals as separate axis I can only operate the rudder in one way (on the right), but FS does not give me this problem.

Yep, your problem with x-plane is the same as mine with fs2004 except I can't get the axis to stay reversed.

Does anyone have a problem with the check box losing its tick in the assignments screen?  If I could get the combined axis to stay reversed then the problem would be solved.
