what turns me off the yokes and high end gear is non of it has force feed back.  I like to feel the plane bucking in the turbulance and the jolt of the rough grass runway.

An IBM EasyOptions flight yoke fitted with force feedback motors and gears from the Sidewinder 2 force feedback USB joystick,

logitech racing wheel and pedels for the rudder, and a
CH throttle quad inside a home made 767 throttle quad.

Saitek X-45 (really good for fighters, but I don't use it for much else)

Yoke and Rudder (love 'em both)

Sidewinder FF 2 (on the shelf collecting dust)

Wireless game controller (for other than FS)

Its a great selection, allowing me to pretty much make up my own combos.  I'm trying to figure out a way to integrate the throttle from the X-45 to work alongside the yoke and rudder, but so far nothing has worked . . .

Yes - and the computer still recognises them!  Until I got my Saitek Cyborg USB Gold last year, those were the only sticks I had (two of them).  Apart from the lack of twisty rudder, they worked just fine for FS9.

See those little blue trim wheels on the base?  I really, really wish a modern joystick manufacturer would put those back on the modern sticks, they were wonderful.

A simple thrustmaster usb joystick that comes with a throttle and a AVB wheel which pedals I use to command the rudder.

It might not be an optimal solution, but sure does its work grandly, and cheaply too. I paid them both 25

Digital control is all the rage now, but analog is making a comeback (as far as trimming goes).  There are, however, good trim knobs on the X45 and X52 joysticks.  The X45 runs about $100 US, but that still makes it one of the best deals around, as its still one of the leading systems out there, even after nearly three years on the market.

where are you looking? i bought my X52 for $109, so that went down $20, and the X45 has been selling for around $60-70 for a couple months now.

nice setup alort, granted it does look like a jail, but you got the more realistic components.

Saitek Cyborg Evo for me-have to calibrate it every time you start the computer, but it's a fantastic stick and a monumental improvement over the Logitech Wingman series ::)
