Flight time logging question

Postby heloflyer » Fri Mar 10, 2006 2:16 pm

I selected the "log flight time" box under Settings/General. It worked fine for a while but now when I close FS i get a message that says "You have chosen to log flight time but the logbook file (here it displays a seemingly random jumble of characters) does not exist. You will not be able to log flight time until you recreate the flight time logging"

I don't know why it's doing this, I'm sure it's a simple fix but I think it might be over my head.

Thanks in advance

I had this problem before. This isn't good for everyone but as my Fs was in such a state i simply reset defaults in FS. It works fine for me now.

I stopped using the default flight logging feature about 5 years ago. My logbook got corupted after a few flights, so I've been using my word processing program to make a spreadsheet, where I can have many more fields than in FS ;)

Interesting-I have a full paper log of my last 550 hours of commops, but I still have the FS logbook enabled just for kicks, really, and I've never had a problem with it.

had a problem like this before, believe the problem lies in the fs9.cfg saying logbook=jumble of letters. instead of logbook=logbook.

edit: found it, in the fs9.cfg file at the [misc] section bit should say LOG_FILE=LOGBOOK if it doesnt then change it to say this and your problem should be solved. 8)

p.s. backup your fs9.cfg before you edit it  ;)
