Interesting comments.
I didn't include tower view tweek - only Radio Controlled planes work with that. :P

Yep! And I quite enjoy flying like that from time to time :) It's good for reviewing landings too, if you move the tower view to the end of the runway.

But yes, I went for VC. With F1View. Without it, I'd be lost :D

I have an enormous pile of books and magazines detailing everything about the science of flying aircraft which I regularly study every day...

   *  Aviation Law
   * Meteorology
   * Navigation
   * Aircraft General
   * Aircraft Technical
   * Human Performance and limitations
   * Radio telephony

I get great enjoyment from studying the above and applying them to my every-day flights on the FS 2004 flight simulator... ;D...!

I have no wish whatsoever to pilot real commercial aircraft but with knowledge gained from the above, I do achieve great satisfaction from correctly flying General Aviation aircraft by the rules... ;)...!

...and all this I do by observing the information presented on my 2D panel in front of me... ;)...!

VIRTUAL COCKPIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Almost 90% of my time is spent in the cockpit, except when I get bored during cruise and I switch to spot plane to look at the plane and take screenshots.

....I like the 2D as it gives me control over all the Bells a Whistles and I personally find the gauges more readable...but I like the Spot view when  enjoying the scenery and to get a better idea of just where I am in relation to the airfied when I am ready to start my landing sequence..........the actual landing though is in 2D..........I might be on my own but I NEVER use VC..........commoner :)

Fozzer, I like your choice of reading matter.......wonder if the Human Performance and Limitations volume would help me at all....at the moment I feel I am underperforming badly and my limitations are legion..........or so my wife tells me ..........commoner ;D

It depends really. I used to hate using the VC, but that's because I hadn't seen a really good one. Now I use the VC if it's good, and all of the important guages are easily readable, but if not, then I am quite happy using a 2D panel. I know a lot of people find the 2D panel to be less realistic, and I think I've figured out why. Don't look at the panel as a single view representing the inside of the airplane, look at it as two views. On the bottom, you have what you see when you look down at the panel, and on the top you have what you see when you look out the windshield. That's how I think of it anyway.
