I took one look at .Net Framework 1.1 4322...on the Microsoft site....
Download...
One hundred and six mega-byte, (106 MB)...
...taking 4-1/2 hours on a 56k dial up system... :o...!

I don't think so, my hearties... ;)...!

...and Edit VoicePack wont work without it, apparently... ;)...!

So that idea is a no-no...for me... ;D...!

Paul...."SoCal, Over and out"... 8)...!

It took me almost 15 minutes to D/L  >:(

It doesn't want to start, asks me to intall the .net 1.1 and quits.

Now, it wouldn't be an issue if... I hadn't installed some time ago the .net framework 2.0.

Is there a way around this screw-up?

So...this editvoicepack - do you record the speech and the program converts your voice into the default M$ pilots' voices?

Cheers mate,
Ashar ;)

Hi Ash...

What you young whipper-snappers call "very easy" and what old Fozzer calls "very easy" are two entirely different things... :o...!

The user guide states that it may not run with later versions of .net Framework. Apparently you can have more than one instance of .net Framework.

No, it's not quite that simple.

I see. :(

Not going to happen. :P

I'll wait a better programmed version. I've waited this long, I can wait longer still. Better than mess up the OS of my PC (more than what it is already). >:(

I downloaded EdicVoicePack recently, and I'm very glad I did. The sim seems just a bit more realistic now. And creating your own soundfiles really isn't as hard as it sounds. Once you make one, it becomes easy. I already made a callsign for the Alphajet, as well as a (much needed) NASA callsign.

The thing is, although it's fairly easy, it can be a bit tedious. Once you put together the sound for one voice, you have to tweak it and edit it to fit the other voices (since they all pronounce things differently). This can mean doing a whole sound from scratch for certain voices. :P

Hey Guys and Ladies,     Good morning to you all and always wishing you the best.   Just a thought - - - - I often read where some of you don't have such a "hook-up" as Verizon DSL.

This is very frustrating to some as it takes "FOREVER" to download a given program or service that is useful / needed / desired /etc.

It would be nice if THIS forum could/would  download and make available to us members  such "THINGS".    It takes Paul and I'm sure many others so long they  "just do w/o them".

     Just a thought.             caveman

Well, with "Traffic 2004" they say "Good morning" and "Good Day" just as well as bye bye... but it gets annoying so reverted back to the default soundfiles...

I also got them to give me wind direction/strength indications prior to permission for takeoff... cant remember what that mod was called...  :)

With EditVoicePack...shortly before takeoff it'll tell you during the message when you're given clearance...

Emirates XXX, surface winds calm, cleared for take off runway X
or something similar... ;)
