Carrier Ops Help

Postby TheBod1357 » Tue Feb 28, 2006 2:55 pm

Can someone please instruct me in simple terms how to install the carrier ops package? Do I simply need to drag and drop the carrier ops main folder (after unzipping, the folder that contains all of the other folders for the textures and panels and modules...) straight into the addon scenery folder? Or what? I attempted to install it last night and it ended up renaming some files and my simulator wouldnt start...

Didn't the d/l come a Readme file? The modules usually go in the FS9 modules folder and aircraft . . . well, in the aircraft folder. Give us the filename of the d/l and where you d/l from . . .

I downloaded the Carrier Ops file straight from here at SimV, and it was one of the modules that messed up the simulator

SimV's Search found this filename which led to p.16 with the accompanying Readme:

"FS 2004 CarrierOps Full Pack Test your pilot skills shooting traps using top aircraft of today on the HMSNZ Waikato carrier by S. Reweti. Compiled with carrier ops ready: F14B Tomcat by Dino Cattaneo, F16C Viper/F16C Tiger Viper by Kirk Olsson, F18E Super Hornet / F-18G Growler by Daisuke Yamamoto & TEAM FS KBT. Two extra paint schemas for F-18E by Ty Hill / Lione Mouler. F16 panel and gauges by Eric Marciano: F16 HUD & radar & key code for registering gauge in FSUIPC dll, rev 3.51. Authorizd by Pete Dowson. RCBco carrier ops gagues: meatball, sound, arrestor, catapult & sonic boom / vapor files by Nick Needham, Doug S. Dawson, and Rob Barendregt. FSUIPC dll by Pete Dowson. This is ready to extract into temp folder, c/p into Ffs9 folders with same name. Modifications of all panels and aircraft config files along with additonal files & install method by Steve Hinson. 27.1MB "

. . . which states: "This is ready to extract into temp folder, c/p into Ffs9 folders with same name."

This makes it pretty much like any other FS9 package

Ok, couple of questions in regards to that, that is indeed the download I got. However, that gauge mentioned, no idea what to do with that and no idea what it even is or does. The code mentioned, ??????. And the airplanes mentioned, do those actually come in the pack? Or must I download them seperately?

thanks

I think if they where included in the package it would be pushing over 100mb, the aircraft can be found on SimV, just do a search and it will reveal all.
