is it just me or does the An-225 not get airborn?

Postby machineman9 » Thu Feb 16, 2006 4:27 pm

i was flying the An-225, the giant shuttle carrying antinov, and i had to go onto slew and keep on going down the runway, eventaully, i was at around 500 mph and it still wouldn't raise a tire,  with any degree of flap, has this happened to anyone else? maybe the plane was overweight

Check the fuel and payload.
Alot of planes I have seem to be grossly overweight on load-up.

Remember to trim the plane too.

And don't forget, it is the largest plane in the world. Not exactly an R/C plane.. ;)

Are you using flaps?  That might help...  Or you could be flying of a very short runway...

You need at least 2 ticks of flaps, loads of trim and 100%N1 before releasing the brakes
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur

You need loads of flap to get off the ground but their is a problem with the CG, it does seem very nose heavy.

The An-225 does not fly, the Earth just simply falls out from underneath it!  ;D

The An-225 does fly, i usually fly this giant on flights  from EGGP to LIEE in sardinia.

The easiest way for you to fly this giant is to just change the payload and fuel range so it will take off then quickly goto the fuel option on the menu and set it back to 100%.

But thats not realistic.

Wouldn't it be better to just corrrect the weight section of the aircraft.cfg flie instead?
