Getting To My Nerves...

Postby Hai Perso Coyone? » Tue Feb 21, 2006 3:19 am

Okay...I asked you fellows a couple of months ago...and now I ask again...I didn't get any response last time...so here I ask again...I have Christian Delbond's julianav1.2 scenery. I don't know WTF is wrong with it but I just get 5-6FPS at the airport...I look out to sea, 35-50FPS...WTF is the problem?? I uninstalled it and re-installed it...still to no avail...now what? I even contacted the author of the file but he hasn't responded for over 4 months now...I can't fly to TNCM as a result and I really miss it...Someone please help out...

EDIT: Even when FS is set to the lowest possible setting, I get 5-6FPS...WTF...it's really pissing me off now  >:( >:(

I don't see what's so wrong with Ashar's question. Surely someone is allowed to get frustrated once in a while. ::)

Ashar. I tried TNCM before & after installing Christian Delbond's scenery posted here. http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery62.htm
Not much difference in the frame rates which appear to be quite normal for my system. If it worked OK before you installed it I don't know what the problem is. If you wish to uninstall it delete it from the Scenery Library first. Don't forget to remove the AF2 BGL from wherever you placed it.

Try uninstalling it correctly by deleting it from the Scenery Library first. The AF2 BGL is named AF2_TNCM.BGL. This should also be removed if you wish to revert to the default airport.

About the only thing I can think of is there is some other scenery in the same area that is conflicting with the one you just installed.
In other words you say that the problem seems to the worst while at the airport I suggest you make sure that the default airport is not active as well this could be what is causing your problem and would explain why your frame rates jump back to normal when you leave the area.
Check your scenery library and make sure that you have not altered or added to that area before you instsalled the scenery with the problem.

Does it happen at all airports?  Does it happen in other object intense areas (urban areas like NYC and Chicago)?  Does it happen in all weather?

I'm not familiar with the scenery package you speak of.  But I do know that I have a very similar PC setup (2.8gig P4, 1.5gig memory, GF6800GS vid card).  At full settings (1600x1200 32 bit, full clouds, full dynamic scenery, full everything) I'm getting about 9-12fps in urban areas and major airports when there are lots of clouds.  When looking "out to sea" in similar weather I'm getting 20-50fps depending on where I am.  And that's with the default scenery.  If your addon pack adds a ton of objects then you could easily be getting 2fps just because you're over-taxing your vid card.

I've got that scenery also, and it slows my system down too, down to between 7 and 10 fps, so at least I can still fly into it. The scenery itself is very complex - no wonder it causes a frame rate hit.

it looks like a simple problem    that airport is to large for your video card with that other pack installed    you look twards airport where alot of stuff is   you get a frame hit   you look out to sea where nothing is and its fine,  quite simple problem   just do what the guys said abov and you will proly be fine

also i am sorry noone helped in your last post but still its no reason to get an angry tone in here    just take it out on your pillow  ;D  (also watch the swearing although many seem to be adults they are rather young and dont need the swearing, we even have a 9 yr old so settle down)
