FS2004 Taxi Issue (resolved)

Postby Radopilot » Sat Feb 11, 2006 3:40 pm

For some reason ever since I have installed FS2004 I am having issues with taxiing. I can go straight down the runway like any other aircraft and navigate through the air but once I touch down I cannot turn left or right. Autorudder is not activated. If needed my joystick type is a Microsoft Sidewinder; non-forcefeedback.

Best Regards,
John

I'll assume the a/c your flying has a steerable nose or tail wheel.

You need rudder control to steer on the ground. If your joystick has a rudder axis (usually twist grip) make sure its assigned.

Keyboard rudder control is on the numpad-Numlock off> 0 and Enter to turn>5 to recenter.

Alternately, if you turn Autorudder on you can steer with the joystick aileron axis.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

my joystick isnt a twist stick, its a regular joystick that moves in the cardinal directions and also moves diagonally. and yes my aircraft have steerable gear.
