Scenery Programs Compatibility

Hey Guys and Ladies,  FIRST OFF      - -   A good morning to you all.   A brief background to those that haven't followed my "POST".   I  "FLY" VFR  and explore mostly in SE  Alaska,  [ and ask a lot of basic/and dumb questions] .  ;D      In my readings of the "payware  forum"and elsewhere some of you - - perhaps many - - have installed Misty Fjords /  Birds Eyeview   and   Ultimate Terrain - Canada / Alaska .      My Questions :    How do you like the scenery of each ?  Do you consider them  worthwhile  and realistic  programs ? Are  "THEY"  hard on the FrameRates of FS9  ?   Can you "run" them together [ compatable]   w/o messing-up each other  ?  And the most important question  is :  Would you share your thoughts and comments about  "THEM".      I can never express my appreciation enough for your time and help .     Thank you all.    caveman

The only payware scenery I have is Misty Fjords, so I can't say if they're all compatible with each other or not, but I would image that they are.

How do I like the scenery? I love it! There is also a lot of addon scenery designed for the Misty Fjords scenery, so Ketchikan has become my virtual home

Of those you use listed, I have Ultimate Terrain - Canada / Alaska installed and it's cool. Holger's terrain is just as good but UT adds some roads and a bit of landclass.

The hottest addon right now is  abacuspub.com's EZ-Scenery. For $29 bucks you can add any scenery anywhere you want. Cool.

Remember: Decide upon and use ONE terrian mesh BEFORE adding your sceneries as the elevations and other features will be (maybe) affected if the mesh is changed later

Ketchikan is also my home base.  Love the screenshots,  I also fly "on the deck".   May I ask if there is a program that would do something  [anything] with the "splotchy" terrain ?      Very good advice about the terrain mesh.   I already have installed  "Real Scene  2004,  USA  Terrain  and  Landclass Data Sets.  [still have spotchy terrain]   It's really nice to have others helping.    Thanks much.     caveman

Splotchy terrain? I'm not sure If I know exactly what you're talking about, but have you tried downloading new ground textures for the flightsim?

Hey - - Good Morning.   Couldn't  get back sooner  -  - sorry.  You mentioned  "New ground textures"  - - - would you bring me "up to speed" on this ?    I seem to have missed it in my searching.     I'm always trying to make my scenery as real as possible .     I do know I will have to "ditch" some of my programs in favor of better ones.  I'm also thinking of the NEXT  FSX  and VISTA that will probably be out in the fall.     It's very difficult waiting .    It' also a money "thing"   [dumb money  tree - - - it produces too many bills          ].   Such is life .     Sure appreciate your help.      caveman

   While I do not have the scenery you are talking about I recently got a copy of MegaScenery USA: Southern California
and it is awesome and very frame rate friendly.

Thanks for your input. Isn't it nice to be able to "go" places and explore  different areas.   Right now and for the past year and half  I've sorta been exploring SE  Alaska.   Some day I wish to see the rest of the world.   I  "fly" with a topo at my side and am sure the other states are very exciting too.       Always so nice to have others input.        caveman
