Landing Lights?

Postby Jon H » Fri Jan 20, 2006 10:38 am

I have noticed that the landing lights do not operate on the Lancair Legacy I have downloaded. They don't come on if I flick the switch on the panel, or use the keyboard command.
The taxi lights do work however, and I'm wondering why this is.

Has anyone else experienced this?

do they appear on when you switch to spot view?

Mine show up in spot view but not when ::) in panel view. Also why are airstrips so dark at night? It's really hard to see to pull off the landing strip to taxi!

Do you have them turned on in the "Display" part of the options?

I dont know anything bout the legacy, but some planes the Landing lights retract, and you have to press SHIFT+W to get them out.

Landing lights are selected in the display options, and the lights are fixed to the undercarraige, so they're always out on the ground.
I've emailed the designer, but haven't got a reply yet.

Could it be a problem with the aircraft.cfg file?

There is no mention of landing lights there..

It very well could be in the aircraft cfg file,
You should see a section in the aircraft cfg file that describes the lights used on the aircraft navigation taxi and landing light are all defined here.
You also need to have the approiate light needed in the effect file EXAMPLE (NAVRED.fx) or something like that. So you might be missing a light the IFDG aircraft use unique names so if you do not move the .FX files to the effect folder you will have no lights at all.

I did move all the effect files to the effects folder in fs9.

The aircraft.cfg file has a lights section, with nav and strobe lights etc, but no landing lights.
