FS 2004 Aircraft Sound/Panel Issues

Postby CaptainJ » Fri Jan 27, 2006 3:16 pm

Hello All,

I'm new to this forum.  Someone please help me!!  When I start FS and select an aircraft, the sound and panel shows up as the Mooney Bravo (or some other small prop plane).  Regardless of what aircraft I select, this always shows up.  I've restarted FS, run clean boots on my computer, updated drivers, troubled shot my sound card, ran adware and antivirus programs, run disk cleaner and defrag, checked my direct x,.......etc. and nothing has worked.  I've looked in each aricrafts panel and sound file and nothing appears to be wrong.  This is a real pain to try and fly a commercial jet (God forbid a fighter jet!!!) and hear the sound and see the panel of a small prop craft!!  If there is a simple solution i.e., changing something in the config file or something, please let me know ASAP!  I want to fly right!!

Hi CaptainJ & welcome. I can't think why you should be having this problem. It would help to know if this is something new or if it's always been like this. Also if this is simply the default aircraft or if you've installed any addons.

That happens sometimes, why they do that I dont have a clue, but at least it is a simple fix. Say for instance you download a 737, and it has a Cessna panel and sounds, all you have to do is find a 737 panel and sounds and download them and overwrite the sound and panel folders, in the new 737 folder, or you can also alias the new 737 to the default panel and sound........... ;D

This has not always happend.  It Just started happening about a month ago.  About three times to to be exact.  But now it appears to be constant, everytime I start FS and select an aircraft.  I have added aircraft since obtaining FS.  I've had FS 2004 sinceMay/June 04,  but this just recently started.

Fly In,

I wish it were that simple!  I have already done that for a few of the aircraft and since gone back to fly them again.  Guess what?  The same sound and panel for the Mooney or Cessna (or whatever it is) shows up again.  Not the ones I replaced them with.

This seems strange to me. I've never experienced anything like it in several years of messing around with this stuff. Have you done a System Restore recently?

So you think that could be the problem?  What do I do with system restore?

Thanks everyone your replies.  I think I had the problem solved.  I had to move all of my aircraft, gauges, sound, some textures and some folders in the main fs9 folder then unistall and reinstall the whole thing!  A pain in the but......it appeared to have worked.  Thanks
