Removing SilverWings

Postby brantmacga » Sun Jan 15, 2006 6:57 pm

Tell me how please??? I know I should've backed up texture files but for some reason did not! I don't really like the silverwings package at all and just want to revert to stock textures. Thanks, Brant.

Read the README! Thats what its there for! The only way to get the orgionals back without reinstalling is to go searching through your CDs. When you find the scenery, in .cab files I believe, extract them into their proper place. Next time backup your folders, it makes reverting much easier.

Its a set of replancement land and water textures. Theres nothing wrong with it, its just personal taste. Some people like it and others think its ugly. If you regularly fly higher than 10-15000' I would not advise getting SiverWings. Its meant for low flying and has some rather annoying errors when your up high, especially the water.

I DO have the default CD's. That is what I'm asking; how do I get the scenery off the CD?

thanks napamule. i do have the autogen cranked up. its nice scenery, just not for me. I saw those files you were talking about when I was browsing through my cd's before i posted this topic, I just didn't know what to do w/ them. I may just do a complete re-install if I can't get it straightened out. again, I appreciate you replying w/ some good advice instead of sarcasm.  :)
