Carrier landings

Postby town » Fri Dec 23, 2005 2:25 pm

As some of oyu already know, there is an aircraft carrier south west of the Golden Gate bridge in the Pacific ocean.

The question is: what is the fastest aircraft you have made a successful landing in on it (and I mean a full stop landing!) ;D

An unmodified Cessna Grnad Caravan, I was trying a fully loaded 737 the other day. I did it, but slewed on the approach, so therfore I cheated. :D
Cheers  ;)

the default lear jet- full thrust reverse while still in the air, and it doesn't always turn out pretty.

The 208 amphibian. Once I can find a good freeware C-130 I'll try that.

Perhaps some of you hot-shot pilots can demonstrate your incredible piloting skills during an MP session some time?  We could have a carrier landing day and you can all put your airliners and giant cargo planes safely onto the Enterprise deck for everyone to see.  Or not  ;D

I tried to land my Extra 300 there recently, I made a good approach and touched down right at the start of the deck - and then rolled all the way down the whole length and off the other end because the brakes on the Extra are so useless!

I've tried some of my bush aircraft on the carrier without any problem. I can also land and take off of the carrier with my Piper Archer

I personally have just managed a Cessna 152.

I failed with a Provost.

I failed with a Jenny.

And I failed with a beech twin.

Now that is honesty
