Is there a limit to the amount of AI I can install

Postby Saitek » Thu Dec 29, 2005 7:06 pm

I ask because I downloaded 50 packages or something and before I begin the task of installing them I wanted to know if my sim would even fire up afterwards. ;)

As far as I know, there are no limits, as long as you have enough parking spaces available for all your AI aircraft

The only limit is that you can have 6500 and something AI aircraft in the aircraft file, or is it 65000. In TTools at least. Either way, thats more than enough to last you awhile.

Edit-Just checked the readme. You can have anything between AC#0 and AC#65536 in TTools, meaning you can have 65537 different aircraft.

Actually there is. The limit is reached when ATC constantly makes calls to aircraft without leaving you any time to respond. At that point I would say you have to many AI packages installed  :-/

Or when there's too many aircraft and the airport becomes gridlocked ;D

Maybe we should change the title of this topic to..

You know you have too much AI installed when......

You run out of fuel trying to land because ATC keeps telling you..

Haven't had that yet but I did once spend over an hour at JFK from start up to take off. Ground kept telling me to hold.

I don't think their can be a limit.....but I would take in consideration that If you have a error you know how to deal with it. I've had many errors with AI and It can be very frusterating on a person that may not know how to fix it. So make sure every flightplan you have loaded is different not just including routes but times too and you can also see examples of your flightsim AI aircraft for example see 3-4 flying in formation to the same location (i.e cause) because their was an airline programed with the same flightplan, times ect.
Actually there is. The limit is reached when ATC constantly makes calls to aircraft without leaving you any time to respond. At that point I would say you have to many AI packages installed  :-/

Also, you have a slow system with over X plus amount of planes flying it could make you computer run slow. ;) ;D

All I can say, Ben, is....

"You are a glutton for punishment"....:o...!

Even if my Traffic is set at 25% with the default AI, I sometimes get no break in transmissions to reply to ATC's requests before it's too late, and a collision is imminent....... :o...!
LOL...!

That's weird Paul - all my airports are as deserted as the area around Chernobyl. :(

You know, there's a way around that. Install any and every AI you can and want and, when it becomes too bothersome to stay behind all those planes, enter the apposite menu and curb them out. ;D

It works. ;)

LOL...!

I don't mind generating a lot of Traffic, (50%-100%), to populate the airfields down below....
...it's the constant chatter on my radios that I object to because of all that Traffic...:'(...!

My usual chat with ATC, and their replies are OK....
....it's all the chatter from all the other stuff flying around in the air that annoys me...LOL... ;D...!

Even if I am chuffing along at 500 feet AGL in my '152, in the middle of nowhere, you can bet your bottom Dollar that there is a lot of stuff flying around at 50,000 feet AGL above my canopy, who love filling up my radio with their endless chatter...LOL...!

If I turn all my radios off for a bit of peace and quiet, the Transponder no longer works....and ATC get REALLY annoyed then...Trust me... ;D... ;D... ;D...!
LOL...!

Cheers all...!

Paul...Popping a CD in the CD player, instead... 8)...!

Fozzer, that's what happens when you fly around a congested area ;)

Go fly in Alaska. The skies are almost empty and the radio is always quiet ;D
