Welcome to SimV.

Airman First Class, right? It's good to see another reservist here 8) What's your MOS?

I can't help much with your techinical difficulties, but I can help with the flying aspect ;)

Here's a website where you can learn some stuff from.

http://stoenworks.com/Aviation%20home%20page.html

The learning center also has some articles that might be helpful.

Ah Esselbach....

Asking for an MOS shows you are Army ::) and not Air Force. The proper way to ask what his speciality is

"Airman, what is your AFSC?"

Welcome to the club A1CAF.  To help isolate your problem, when you start the program and get to the aircraft cockpit press your ALT key. This will display a menu bar at the top of your screen. Go to options, display, and set everything down to minimums. save and then exit the program. Restart the program and see if tht helps. If it does you will have to play with your display settings until you get what you like without crashing. Let us know how it turns out

You're right. I am in the Army ;)

The 'A1C' in his username made me to wonder if he was an Airman First Class, that's all.

As for the AFSC, I have no idea what that stands for, but i'm assuming it means the same thing as MOS (Military Ocupational Specialty) ???

It means "Air Force Service Code" and usualy consists of 5 numbers and a letter

For example if I can remember mine...

32671B which was F-111 Electronics Repair

The 4th number indicated your skill level and started a 3 (student). Once you passed all of your tests it became a 5. Next was 7.

While I was in My AFSC was broken into two separate divisons. I then had 2 AFSC's s and maintained a 5 level in one and a 7 level in the second.

And by mentioning the F-111 I am showing my age..

Not quite an old fart but getting close. P U

Is there a way to change the keyboard command for adjusting the rudder trim?

You may change the rudder trim key, or any others, by editing keyboard assignments. Start up FS9, then click on Settings and then choose Assignments. The rest is pretty well self-explanatory.

Not as much as the NCO's on Quantaco love those future 2nd Lt. that are half their age. If they do it the same way as they do in enlisted training, things could get interesting. For the Marines, you get to wear the insignia of whatever rank you were gaurenteed when you signed for the last week of training. Could get interesting with a sargent ordering around a kid wearing his gold bar.
I guess I'll find out soon enough. 2 more years of high school then off to either the Naval Academy with Marine option or to a Naval ROTC with the Marine option.
